lovely little combo

Here's a color scheme to make your mouth water. By Kate Miss via Victoria's blog. I'm a bit late in discovering it, but on 10/10/10 Victoria invited 10 different photographers to take + submit 10 different photographs. Suddenly she had 100 photos to document the day. I sure love a collar peeking out above a sweater.

mittens

Talula Nautical Mittens

The air is officially crispy, and I'm really into nautical things. So these mittens from the fabulous Artizia seem perfect. I've been up to no good at my creaky little crafting table and have much to share this week!

Elefant

Perfect mustardy color + elephants make this bag brilliant and simple. Plus, those elephants are Swedish...which means we call them elefants. That's the only word I caught from the website (which is all in Swedish). I didn't really mind, though, because all the prints there are so bright and cheery.

Liberty of London

Today I spotted a wedding inspired by this Liberty of London fabric (I'll take some of every print, thank you) with which the mother of the groom used to make all the ties. The entire wedding had me drooling a bit. The bride rightfully described it as "Nothing too precious, but everything romantic."

Ruche

One of my favorite things about studying to be a teacher is dressing for the part. I've been notoriously dubbed by my friends as such. Ruche's fall lookbook--with the black boards and school books (and really great outfits)--is making me salivate a bit.

layers

There's nothing like a giant flower and a cardigan to start the week right. This project was simple: I cut different sizes of flowers and tacked them together, then knotted the middle a bit. I sure love that rusty color.

Satomi Kawakita

I think this ring is perfect. It's my exact ratio of Plain Jane + vintage. Satomi Kawakita is brilliant. Happy Friday!

tricots in automne

This morning I discovered the French clothing website Heimstone. I also learned that sweaters like these are called tricots (in France, of course). Then I learned that tricot is simply a knitted fabric. My, what an educational morning! Anyway, I'm in the market for a big knitted sweater (tricot) and these seem so perfectly cozy.

Something similar yet different is this. And also this.

Monday.

I'm loving the no make-up, messy braid (aka lazy?) look. Happy Monday.

beard cap

Handmade of 100% Icelandic sheep wool. And really rad.

bunchy bow

I had a few random scraps and decided to try something quick and easy. Ta-da! All I did was bunch little pieces of fabric together, put a few stitches through the bottoms, then attach them all onto a circle of felt. You can't really tell, but I slipped the whole thing onto a headband. Don't you feel proud to walk around wearing something you've made?

Gold

Hello, pretty gold shoes. I would love these for the fall. Think they'd let too much rain in?

simple joys

A white blouse tucked into a mustard pleated skirt (with pockets), green galoshes, and chickens hanging out on a pretty road. Give me the simple life.

From EmersonMade's brand-spankin new clothing line!

The Brass Hussy

I think this Steampunk Vintage Car Button Ring would fit in well amongst the other rings atop my dresser. Well, really any jewelry made by The Brass Hussy is just dandy by me.

love note

Dear pleated J.Crew shorts, I love you. I daydream about you as I stare into my wardrobe. We could make summertime fabulous and pleated, you and I.

felt {for men}

All this time I just assumed my tiny felted flowers could only be for ladies. How close-minded and ignorant was I? {Very}

Now I just need to get my hands on one of those fabulous tweedish-woolish sport coats.
Such well dressed fellas.

Happy Friday + happy plaid and khaki

Let's face it: plaid and khaki should get married. And have lots of cardigan babies. And maybe some pleated grandchildren.

My two most recent purchases (plaid fabric mary-janes and straight-legged khakis) were in efforts of such a match. Perfect for this transition of seasons. A classic look with a plethora of options. Can I admit I'm salivating a bit?

Note: I have not fallen off the face of the earth. I have lots of fresh crafting endeavers to document and share
