{pom pom} vines
Doesn't this make you wish you had plans to throw a pretty little party--for which you could hang colorful garland? Maybe you already do. I'm thinking along the lines of an indoor garland too, probably because a constant state of wetness is thoroughly upon the entire Northwest. No one likes soggy tissue paper. Click here for great DIY instruction from the creator of Rifle Design.
lovely little combo

Here's a color scheme to make your mouth water. By Kate Miss via Victoria's blog. I'm a bit late in discovering it, but on 10/10/10 Victoria invited 10 different photographers to take + submit 10 different photographs. Suddenly she had 100 photos to document the day. I sure love a collar peeking out above a sweater.

Rachel McGinn

I considered posting every photograph from her entire site but realized you could just go there yourself. (Which, by the way, you must do.) It's whimsy and summertime.
Happy First Day of Summer! Go eat a popcicle on your front porch steps.

Il Lee uses only a blue ball point pen on his works. Isn't it fascinating? Maybe I'm just fascinated because I would never have the patience to finish such a job.

Oh, how I wish I could see this up close and in person! Il Lee is featured in the Gebert Contemporary Art Gallery in Santa Fe.

Made by Joel
This is the blog of a dad who's projects are almost always a toy or craft for his kids, like this wooden slot animal. I love the idea of plain and simple things for the littles to play with, fostering much of their own creativity.

{Appreciated} artists

Who else out there often finds themselves admiring something online or in a shop only to say I could make that, mentally store the idea away in a messy pile of psychological sticky notes, and walk away?
Well, call me an overly confident crafter, but that's me. Thus, my favorite artists are those who's work I absolutely, painstakingly cannot mimmic in any way. And this is why Lisa Golightly is one of my heroes. (It may also have something to do with the fact that she has the same name as a certain Holly Golightly, who is also one of my heroes...heroines?)
Lisa's Etsy shop, Kiki and Polly is whimsical and happy. There you can also find her website and blog, and start planning which of her works you'll hang on the imaginary walls of the charming house you do not yet own. Seriously.
