Hope everyone's holiday was as simple and entertaining as mine. In honor of such a patriotic time, let us all now swoon and drool over this places in america print. I'm convinced I could replicate one for myself; however, it would be significantly more awesome to let my students go at one.
Created exclusively for the Royal We by Oliver Jeffers, this is a signed print of a hand painted map of America. With pins. Each print comes with 102 pins to chart your path to total American domination. 100 of the pins are orange, one of them is red and one of them is blue. Orange is for states conquered, red is for headquarters and blue is for state of origin.

Hello, weekend treat
This cheesecake is so doable, even a measly old college student can (and will) make it. And then eat it. I discovered it on She Eats Bears, a fantastic little food blog. I think I admire food bloggers the most. They're the ones with their priorities in line.
{brown} paper
I came across this photo advertising that bundle of delicious tea towels (worth checking out here) but was more drawn to that bouquet of perfectly simple flowers wrapped in brown paper. Julie Andrews had it figured out when she sang of brown paper packages. I would be perfectly happy to wrap all my gifts to give (including flowers) in brown paper for the rest of my life.

Crickey! My Etsy shop is up and running! Keep checking on it, too, because the idea books are filling up.

The Brass Hussy
I think this Steampunk Vintage Car Button Ring would fit in well amongst the other rings atop my dresser. Well, really any jewelry made by The Brass Hussy is just dandy by me.

love note
Dear pleated J.Crew shorts, I love you. I daydream about you as I stare into my wardrobe. We could make summertime fabulous and pleated, you and I.

a {garden party} wedding
Ahh, love. My dear friend is getting married in June. She's putting together a garden party-esque reception for which she goes antiquing every weekend. She recently told me of a vintage typewriter for guests to type their names into. And now, I finally have the perfect reason to post my most favorite garden party pictures. I cannot think of a better reason than this.
P.S. Who wouldn't want to join me? The company will be even more grand than the jars and candles in the trees.

{honorable} intentions
School has once again taken over my life. Sometimes crafting must be temporarily set aside in order for me to accomplish tasks that usually involve the state and success of my entire future career. Honorable, yes? If I did have a more available afternoon, I would make these perfect tea cookies and this recycled rose petal shirt.

alive
Yes, I'm alive. No, nothing huge or tragic happened. Life just has its ways of engulfing me into never-ending lists of to-do. Along the journey, though, I catch myself in places like these and discover that everything, really, is just how I'd like it to be.
Isn't that the most lovely scene? The ground looked painted for miles. Mmm.
